Pay-per-indexed vs credit pricing

Published · By IndexChex

Pay-per-indexed pricing charges only for URLs Google indexes and refunds the rest; per-submission credit pricing charges for every URL sent. For 1,000 URLs, per-submission IndexChex standard costs $1.40 to $4.40, while refund-based tools cost roughly $34 to $565 for the URLs that index. The cheaper model depends on unit price and your indexing rate.

The three models

Pay per indexed. The buyer is charged only for URLs that end up in Google's index. SpeedyIndex prices "1 indexed link = 100 tokens" and returns tokens for unindexed links after 7 days (source). IndexMeNow fully refunds URLs not indexed after 10 days (source).

Refundable credits. The buyer spends 1 credit per submitted URL, and credits for failures come back after a window. Rapid URL Indexer refunds after 14 days (source); Omega Indexer after 24 hours (source). In effect this is also pay-per-indexed, with the full amount paid up front.

Per submission. The buyer pays for the attempt. Credits are not returned when Google declines a page. IndexChex works this way (pricing), as does Indexceptional.

Worked example: 1,000 URLs

The example uses each vendor's cheapest and most expensive published unit price. For refund-based vendors, the cost of 1,000 submitted URLs depends on how many index. Rapid URL Indexer publishes a 91% average; the others do not publish a rate, so their rows assume 850 indexed (85%), the same rate IndexChex reports for standard mode, to keep the comparison on one footing.

Vendor and tierUnit priceBasisURLs paid forCost
IndexChex standard, Starter pack$0.0044Submitted1,0001,000 x $0.0044 = $4.40
IndexChex standard, Enterprise pack$0.0014Submitted1,0001,000 x $0.0014 = $1.40
IndexChex instant$0.084 to $0.26Submitted1,000$84 to $260
SpeedyIndex Professional$0.04Indexed850850 x $0.04 = $34.00
SpeedyIndex Start$0.10Indexed850850 x $0.10 = $85.00
Rapid URL Indexer, 500 pack$0.05Indexed (refund)910910 x $0.05 = $45.50
Rapid URL Indexer, 50,000 pack$0.04Indexed (refund)910910 x $0.04 = $36.40
Omega Indexer Pro$0.065Indexed (refund)850850 x $0.065 = $55.25
IndexMeNow Agency$0.665Indexed (refund)850850 x $0.665 = $565.25

Cash out of pocket is higher than the "cost" column for the refundable-credit vendors, because the buyer first purchases credit for all 1,000 URLs; the 90 or 150 refunded credits then sit in the balance for the next batch.

Cost per indexed URL

Dividing a per-submission price by the indexing rate converts it onto the pay-per-indexed basis. At the 85% standard rate IndexChex reports, $0.0044 / 0.85 = $0.0052 and $0.0014 / 0.85 = $0.0016 per indexed URL. For instant mode at 95%, $0.084 / 0.95 = $0.088 and $0.26 / 0.95 = $0.27. These IndexChex rates are averages from its weekly measurement on recurring URL sets as of October 2026, not guarantees.

Where the models cross over

A per-submission tool stays cheaper per indexed URL as long as price / rate stays below the competitor's per-indexed price. Against SpeedyIndex's Professional price of $0.04, IndexChex's Starter rate of $0.0044 would only lose if fewer than about 110 of 1,000 URLs indexed (0.0044 / 0.04 = 0.11). So on price alone the refund rarely changes the order at these list prices.

Price is not the only consideration, though:

  • Budget certainty. Pay-per-indexed caps the cost of a bad batch. A per-submission buyer who sends 1,000 thin pages pays for all of them.
  • Incentives. A refund means the vendor carries the cost of failure, which gives it a reason to filter out unindexable URLs. Omega Indexer, for example, refunds non-indexable links immediately.
  • Verification. Without refunds, the buyer has to check results. IndexChex bundles an index checker for that reason; refund-based vendors rely on their own reports.

Choosing a model

Pay-per-indexed or refundable credits suit buyers who submit expensive, mixed-quality links and want spend tied to outcomes. Per-submission pricing suits buyers with large, reasonably clean lists who check results themselves. The backlink indexer comparison lists every vendor's basis. Head-to-head pages cover IndexChex vs SpeedyIndex and IndexChex vs Rapid URL Indexer, the SpeedyIndex alternatives page groups refund-based options, and the IndexChex profile holds the publisher's own figures.

FAQ

Is pay-per-indexed always fairer?

It shifts the risk of failure to the vendor, which is fair to the buyer, but the vendor prices that risk into the unit cost. Whether it is cheaper depends on how far apart the unit prices are and how well your URLs index.

Are refunds paid in cash?

At the vendors checked, refunds return as credits or tokens to the account balance, so the money stays with the vendor for the next batch.

What indexing rate should I assume for a per-submission tool?

Use your own history if you have it. IndexChex publishes an 85%+ standard-mode average from weekly measurement on recurring URL sets; thin or duplicate pages will index below that at any vendor.
